Wilken’s Fruit and Fir Farm – Yorktown, New York

You can enjoy apple picking, pumpkin picking, and peaches picking. You do not need reservations to go apple picking at Wilkens Fruit and Fir Farm. You can expect to find Gala and McIntosh apples starting 1st week of September, Baldwin, Cortland, and Macoun can be found in the 2nd and 3rd week of September. Then you can find Jonagold and Empire apples in the first week of October. In the second and third week of October you will find golden delicious, red delicious, crispin, winesap, Fuji, and Ida Red apples. The wagon ride takes you to the orchard from the entry point on select weeks only through early September.

Rates: Prices are based on the weight of your bushel of apples. The minimum to enter the orchard for every 2 adults is 1 peck bag of apples and for every 3- 4 adults it is 1/2 bushel bag.

Stuart’s Farm – Granite Springs, New York

This is a historical gem! The Stuart’s Fruit Farm is family operated since 1828 and is fantastic for apple picking in Westchester. Apple picking for them begins on September 6th and runs daily from 10 am – 5 pm through November. You can enjoy a fun hayride from the entry point to the orchard on weekends from 11 am – 5 pm. In September you will find McIntosh, Jonamac, Cortland, Macoun, and Gala apples. In October you will find Empire, Northern Spy, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Winesap, Fuji, Ida Red, Crispin, Cameo, Suncrisps, Nitany’s, and Braeburn apples.

Hours: Apple picking begins Saturday, September 9th – Sunday October 29th on weekends only
A general admission ticket gives you access to the grounds. If you wish to apple pick you have to purchase a bag separately on the farm.
Guests can visit one of three bars on the premises. Food options include barbecue lunch, grass-fed burger, hot apple cider, and live music. No pets allowed.

Apple picking begins on September 2, 2023. They don’t require reservations in the beginning of the season but will be required when the busier weekends come. Reservations will be for 3 hour slots. You can enjoy a 15-minute hayride as you get a look at all the gardens and apple trees. You can also eat on the farm choosing from woodfire pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, and french fries.
