Candlelight Concerts — Mount Kisco
Perhaps the most romantic concert experience happening in Westchester this fall can be found inside St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Mount Kisco.
The popular Candlelight Concerts series transforms the historic church into an intimate concert venue illuminated by the warm glow of candlelight.
Rather than presenting only traditional classical repertoire, the series mixes composers such as Vivaldi with string interpretations of contemporary artists and movie soundtracks.
That makes it an especially appealing introduction to classical music for someone who doesn’t normally attend orchestral concerts.
And the fall 2026 schedule has quite a variety.
Vivaldi’s Four Seasons & More

One of classical music’s most recognizable works feels particularly appropriate as summer begins giving way to fall.
Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons is performed in the intimate candlelit setting at St. Mark’s, creating an evening that feels considerably different from hearing the work in a traditional concert hall.

The Best of Hans Zimmer

Film lovers may particularly enjoy this one.
Music by celebrated composer Hans Zimmer is reimagined for the Candlelight setting, bringing familiar cinematic themes into the intimacy of a live string performance.
It’s the kind of crossover event that works beautifully for someone who loves music but isn’t necessarily a classical-concert regular.

A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics
October 23, 2026 at 6:00 and 8:15 p.m.
This may be one of the most fun Westchester date nights of the Halloween season.
Just before Halloween, the church takes on an appropriately atmospheric mood for an evening of haunting classical and cinematic selections performed by candlelight.
There are currently two performances scheduled for October 23.
Candlelight Pop Tributes
The series doesn’t stop with classical music.
Fall performances also include candlelit string interpretations of artists ranging from Michael Jackson and Fleetwood Mac to Coldplay and Imagine Dragons.
It’s an unusual formula, but that’s part of the appeal.
You may walk in because you love the Beatles or Fleetwood Mac and leave with an entirely new appreciation for the sound of a string quartet.

Classical Music Inside a Historic Estate — Caramoor, Katonah
For an entirely different kind of classical evening, there is Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts.
Once the country home of Walter and Lucie Rosen, the 81-acre Katonah estate has evolved into one of Westchester’s most distinctive cultural destinations.
The Rosens were passionate collectors and music lovers, and that history is still very much part of attending a concert here.
During the warmer months, performances take place throughout Caramoor’s gardens and outdoor venues.
But some of the most intimate experiences happen inside the historic Rosen House.
Its Music Room is unlike a conventional concert hall. Audiences listen surrounded by stained glass, Renaissance furniture and architectural treasures collected by the Rosens during their travels.

Caramoor’s Evnin Rising Stars program brings exceptionally talented young classical musicians together for an intensive period of collaboration followed by public performances.

Westchester Philharmonic — Purchase
If you’re looking for the grandeur of a full professional orchestra, Westchester has that too.
The Westchester Philharmonic presents its Main Stage concerts at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.
Its 2026–27 season begins this fall with The Sum of All Things on October 18.
Pianist and conductor Benjamin Hochman leads a program featuring music by Beethoven, Brahms, Arvo Pärt and Mozart.
The performance brings together piano, strings and orchestra, culminating in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14.
The Purchase Performing Arts Center provides the traditional concert-hall experience—excellent acoustics, a large stage and the excitement that comes when a full orchestra begins playing together.
It’s an ideal choice for anyone who misses the experience of Lincoln Center but doesn’t necessarily want the trip into Manhattan.

Intimate Chamber Music in Sleepy Hollow
There’s something particularly special about chamber music.
Instead of dozens of musicians on a large stage, a handful of performers create the entire musical experience—and audiences can hear every detail.
Friends of Music Concerts has been bringing chamber music to Westchester for more than 70 years.
Its 2026–27 season opens September 19 with a piano trio featuring violinist Soovin Kim Han, violinist Philip Setzer and cellist David Finckel.
The fall schedule continues with the Balourdet Quartet on October 4 and Trio Azura on October 18.
For serious classical listeners, this is one of Westchester’s longstanding hidden gems.

Free Classical Music at Grace Church — White Plains
Not every beautiful musical experience needs an expensive ticket.
Downtown Music at Grace presents live performances inside historic Grace Episcopal Church in downtown White Plains.
The series has become known for its midday concerts, creating an unusual opportunity to step away from work, shopping or errands and spend part of the afternoon listening to live music.
This November, the Westchester Philharmonic’s chamber series joins Downtown Music for Brahms to Ellington: The Concert Hall Meets the Music Hall.
Bassoonist Frank Morelli and pianist Nenad Ivović will explore connections among composers including Brahms, Gershwin, Bernstein, Ellington and Weill.
The November 11 concert begins at 12:10 p.m. and is offered free of charge, with a donation suggested.
